Plan for Big Expenditures

The average furnace has a lifespan of about 10 years. In fact everything from your refrigerator to your car has a drop-dead date. Whenever you buy a big ticket item that you know you’re going to eventually have to replace, guess what you should be doing? Well, in the case of that furnace, it would be setting aside 1/10 the cost of a new furnace every year for the next decade so that when the time comes to anti-up again you’re not scrambling to stay work. Is your furnace already 5 years old? You’ll have to up your savings because you have less time to save.
